July 12th, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaShrimps, Mushroom and Rice Salad
June 21st, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaThis isn’t one of the recipes I usually cook, but it kind of puzzled me when I saw a recipe, so I had to try it.
It turned out pretty nice, somewhat unusual taste but quite interesting.
I used shrimps, presented in last week recipe this recipe, but I think store purchased pre-cooked shrimps will work well for it as well.
Ham, Pineapple and Peas Salad
April 5th, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaThis salad has interesting combination of ingredients: sweet peas with pineapples and ham (or canadian bacon) mixed with lettuce.
Freshly boiled peas can be substituted for canned peas on this one, but canned ones are some what easier to find.
Assemble salad right before you plan to serve it, lettuce will not keep freshness and crispness for long after slicing.

March 8th, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaSpring is right around the corner. And even though nowadays you can buy fresh vegetables all year around, in spring they taste somehow special. Maybe this is a way how body let’s you know it needs to be replenished with vitamins.
This is why I am publishing this recipe for salad made of fresh bell peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes with boiled white chicken meat and a bit of cheese.
By the way, mayo in the dressing can be mixed with sour cream for skinnier version.
Shrimp, Egg and Potato Layered Salad
February 8th, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaThis salad is often referred to as “Shrimps Under Fur Coat” salad, here two shrimp layers are dressed in layer of grated potatoes, eggs, mayo and topped with red caviar.
I know red caviar is not something people here buy and eat all that often, but if you decide to try this salad I suggest to get caviar from the local european or russian store.
This salad need some time to settle down after assembling, so prepare it at least 6 hours prior to serving.
Crabsticks, Beans, Tomato, Bell Pepper and Cheese Salad
January 11th, 2014 in Salads by Julia VolhinaOne more salad for holiday table: lighter salad with crab sticks, red beans, tomatoes, bell pepper and cheese. It is pretty fast to make because doesn’t require any prep work: nothing to boil or cook prior to assembling.
I used italian blend of shredded cheese, but any hard cheese you like will work. If you have whole piece of cheese, you can dice it instead of shredding.
Adjust amount of garlic to your liking, if whole clove seems a bit too much use only half of it.
