I’ve prepared the pan fried cod for this photo recipe, but you can cook pretty much fresh fish of any kind in the same way.
Just make sure you scale fish before (if it has scales) and cut into portion pieces suitable for frying.
I like to serve fried fish with Potato Puree, but you may find some other side dish for it.

This is the first time I see flour, then egg, then in the oil with no second coating of flour.
Just finished it ... with mashed potatoes and a Black Horse. Delicious.

Tried it and it came out perfect. Love the simple recipe. Thanks.
This is so refreshing, I love fish this is truly an easy and simple recipe. Adam, you answered my question as to what to do with the 2 pounds of cod he brought home, My kitchen has all the ingredients including, the sauce. Which will again save time because I don't have to go the store.
I will Bookmark my new favorite site in hopes that you will share more of your fish recipes. GOOD job!!!
Thank you, Cod for dinner will be served today.
Great site. A word of warning - don't fall into the trap of believing that fresh cod, just caught, is best. Fresh cod falls apart too easily when fried because of the high water content. Best to let cool in fridge for 24 hours, then dry with paper towel, then fry. It will hold together much better. Trust me. I've botched many cod meals because I didn't know this until recently.
thank you for the info, trying it out today
Thank you for the tip!

thank you for the easy recipe very easy one love it
Thanks for the great, simple recipe!! I salted the cod before coating them in flour and to the flour I added a bit of chili powder, cayenne, and cumin. The end result was delicous, smooth, and flavourful. I also made a homemade sauce with mayo, garlic, pickled cabbage, and lemon juice, which was also very smooth and didn't interfere with the flavour of the fish or batter. Thanks again!!
Great, I love fish recipes. I'll enjoy this very much. Thanks, Adam
